:. Marching Cadences
Here we go again,
Same old thing again,
Marching down the avenue,
One more day and we'll be through,
I'll be glad and so will you,
Am I right or wrong? [ You're right!]
Are we weak or strong? [You're strong!]
1,2,
Sound off,
3,4,
Break it on down now,
1-2-3-4,
1-2, 3-4.

Down by the river,
We took a little walk,
Ran into ________, (name)
We had a little talk.
We pushed, we kicked em, we threw them in the river,
and laughed as they drowned.
We don't need no ________,
Hanging around.
All: Heeeeey, don't be a fool somebody said
we were number 2, but we're number 1
WARRIORS (or company)

[Chorus] Whoa-oa-oooaaa, Whoa-ooaa-oa-ooo
Whoop, Whoaaa, Whoa-ooaa-oa-ooo.

Mama Mama can't you see,
What the Army's done to me.
Standin' tall and lookin' good,
Oughta be in Hollywood.
I used to drive a Chevrolet,
Now I'm marching every day.

[Chorus]

I used to drive a Cadillac,
Now I'm marching at the back.
I used to date a beauty queen,
Now I love my M-16.
They took away my faded jeans,
Now I'm wearing army greens.

[Chorus]

Dress it right and cover down,
Forty inches all around.
Nine to the front and six to the rear,
That's the way we do it here.
Look to your left and what do you see,
A buncha wimps wanna be like me.

[Chorus]

Mama, Mama, can't you see?
What JROTCs done for me?
I'm walkin tall and feeling good,
I'm doing things I never thought I could.
Some people talk about us behind our backs,
But we'll beat'em all on the PT track.
We love to show the world what we can do,
We can do it and so can you.

A little mouse,
With tiny feet,
Sat upon,
My my toilet seat.
I pushed him in,
And flushed him down,
And I watched,
Him go round and round.

Little kitten, baby cat,
sitting on my welcome mat,
Picked him up and made him purr,
Then I ripped out all his fur.

The yellow bird,
With the yellow bill,
Was perched upon,
My window sill.
I lured him in,
With a piece of bread,
(ALL) Then I smashed his (stomp) little head.

Way down in the valley,
I heard a mighty roar,
Was it the mighty mighty Warriors,
Using _____ for a toy?
With my hand on the starter,
And my foot on the gas,
Move over sorry _______,
And let the mighty Warriors pass.

They say that in the Army, The chow is mighty fine,
The chicken jumped off the table, and started marking time.
Oh Lord I wanna go, but they wont let me go...
(ALL) HOaOaOaOaOME HEY!
They say that in the Army, The women are mighty fine,
But their hair is long and nappy, and they look like Frankenstein.
Oh Lord I wanna go, but they won't let me go, HOaOaOaOaOME Hey!
(The pay is mighty fine, they give you $100 and take back 99;
The mail's mighty fine, Today I got a letter dated 1949;
The coffee's mighty fine, looks like muddy water and tastes like terpentine;
The training's mighty fine, there were 10 of us, and now theres only 9;
The biscuits are mighty fine, One rolled off the table and killed a friend of mine;
The meat is mighty fine,Last night we had ten puppies, this morning only nine;
The shoes are mighty fine, You ask for size eleven, they give you size nine;
The pancakes are mighty fine, You can try to chew them, but you're only wasting time;
The bed's are mighty fine, But how the hell would I know, I've never slept in mine;
The hours are just right, Start early in the morning and work on through the night;
The buses are mighty fine, One went round the corner, and left three wheels behind;
The toilets are mighty fine, You flush them down at seven, they come back up at nine;
The tents are waterproof, You wake up in the morning and you're floating on the roof. )

(optional) REPLACE all "Airborne!" with "Fresno!"; and "Rangers!" with "Warriors!"

The Rangers are a moving,
There moving through the night.
The Rangers are a looking,
They're looking for a fight.
If you see one,
A Ranger standing tall.
Listen well,
And you'll hear that ranger call.

Chorus:
Airborne! [drawn out from high to low]
Rangers! [drawn out from low to high]

Charlie is a moving,
Moving through the night.
Charlie is thinking,
He's thinking he can fight.
But up from behind him,
A Ranger standing tall.
Slit Charlie's throat,
And watched that Charlie fall.

[Chorus]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hear the choppers coming,
They're flying overhead.
They've come to get the wounded,
They've come to get the dead.
[Chorus]
My buddy's in a foxhole,
A bullet in his head.
The Army says he's living,
But I know that he's dead.
[Chorus]
I ran to tell the CO,
About my buddy's head.
But when I got there,
The CO was dead.
[Chorus]
And now the battle's over,
And smoke is all around.
We wanted to go home,
But we're six feet underground.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Deep in the battlefield, covered in blood,
Lies and Airborne Ranger, dying in the mud.
He fought for his country, and died like a man,
Tho' some people back home just wouldn't understand.

[Chorus]

Back at home a young wife waits,
Unaware that her Ranger has finally met his fate.
Her little boy's cryin' as she tucks him into bed,
Although no one's told him, he knows his daddys dead.

[Chorus]

The boy grew up with a certain kind of shame,
His father was buried in a tomb with no name.
He finally got his chance when the country went to war,
He went to enlist just to even up the score.

[Chorus]

After seven months training he finally saw the day,
Out of 93 men, he got his green beret.
As he stood there looking at the big cheering crowd,
He knows deep inside he'll make his daddy proud.
[Chorus]
